Le Méridien Beach Plaza Monaco: Elegant Suites, Breathtaking Sea Views, and Exceptional Breakfast

Located along Avenue Princesse Grâce, one of Monaco’s most prestigious seaside addresses, Le Méridien Beach Plaza offers a rare combination of private beachfront access and refined Riviera living. Set directly on the Mediterranean, and just minutes from Monte Carlo, Larvotto Beach, and the Grimaldi Forum, the hotel occupies a unique position in Monaco’s luxury landscape—where the rhythm of the sea meets the sophistication of the principality. Unlike many properties in Monaco that are defined by their urban density, Le Méridien Beach Plaza feels open, airy, and intimately connected to the coastline.

What immediately sets this hotel apart is the experience of its suites—elevated, serene, and designed to fully embrace the beauty of the Mediterranean. Over the years, we have stayed at several hotels across Monaco, each offering its own interpretation of luxury. Yet, we always find ourselves returning to Le Méridien Beach Plaza. What draws us back is not just one element, but a rare balance of spacious accommodations, tasteful design, consistently outstanding service, and an exceptional breakfast that remains one of the finest we have experienced anywhere in Europe.

During our most recent stay, we booked two Suites — each with 1 bedroom, a separate living room, sea view, high floor, and balcony. What made this experience especially unique was the layout: the two suites were located next to each other, but instead of a standard connecting door, they shared a private entry foyer. To access the suites, you first pass through a large double door secured by key card. Once inside, you enter a spacious private foyer that belongs exclusively to those two suites. It felt almost like a discreet private residence within the hotel. The space was generous enough to comfortably leave shoes, bags, luggage, or umbrellas, and if I remember correctly, there was even a window on the right side overlooking the sea, bringing in natural light and a sense of openness. From this private foyer, two separate doors lead into each suite. This design offered something rare: both privacy and connection at the same time. It allowed us to stay close while still having our own fully independent spaces—far more refined than the typical connecting room setup found in most hotels.

Inside, each suite was beautifully maintained, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully laid out. The living area felt bright and welcoming, while the bedroom offered a calm and comfortable retreat. The overall experience felt less like a hotel stay and more like having our own private seaside apartment in Monaco. The true highlight of the suite was the balcony, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the sea—an uninterrupted expanse of deep blue stretching to the horizon. Whether enjoying a quiet coffee at sunrise or simply watching the waves below, the atmosphere felt calm and very zen.

Beyond the suite, what sets Le Méridien Beach Plaza apart is its consistent service and attention to detail. Every interaction felt warm, professional, and genuine. The atmosphere balances relaxed coastal living with understated luxury, making it easy to feel both indulged and at ease.

And then there is the breakfast—undoubtedly the defining highlight of the experience. Served at Le Café Lacoste and Smakelijk!, breakfast was included in our rate and stands as one of the most exceptional we have encountered anywhere in Europe. The selection is remarkably extensive, featuring a vast array of hot dishes alongside an elegant and thoughtfully curated continental spread. Every element reflects a level of quality that is rarely seen, even among top-tier hotels. The coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were all refined and of noticeably high quality, elevating even the simplest moments of the morning. There were also unique touches, such as exclusive yogurt selections, adding a sense of discovery and refinement. The breads and pastries were particularly outstanding—fresh, delicate, and rich in flavor, reminiscent of those found in an authentic Parisian bakery. Each bite carried the unmistakable quality of craftsmanship and care. This was not simply breakfast; it was an experience in itself—one that set the tone for the entire day.

From the suite to the service, and down to the smallest details of design and ambiance, everything at Le Méridien Beach Plaza feels carefully curated and effortlessly harmonious. In a destination defined by glamour and exclusivity, Le Méridien Beach Plaza offers something more enduring. It is not about excess, but about balance—between elegance and comfort, between sophistication and ease, between the vibrancy of Monaco and the calming presence of the sea. And in that balance lies its true luxury: a place that does not simply impress, but leaves a lasting impression—one that quietly draws you back, again and again.

Hilton Park Lane, London, UK

In the Spotlight – December 2024: Hilton Park Lane, London

Timeless elegance, breathtaking views of Hyde Park, and warm, thoughtful hospitality define this five-star landmark on Park Lane. Among London’s most iconic luxury hotels, Hilton Park Lane stands out not just for its location—but for offering the perfect balance between comfort, space, and service.

Hilton Park Lane: A Refined Balance of Elegance, Space, and Hospitality in the Heart of London

Located at 22 Park Lane in one of London’s most prestigious neighborhoods, Hilton Park Lane has long stood as a quiet icon of refined hospitality. Opened in 1963 as the first Hilton property in the UK, it has become a landmark for travelers seeking both timeless luxury and an unparalleled location. Set beside Hyde Park, and within walking distance to Mayfair, Knightsbridge, and Green Park, the hotel offers immediate access to some of London’s finest shopping, dining, and cultural landmarks.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to stay at many top-tier hotels in and around Park Lane—London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, and InterContinental London Park Lane, to name a few. While each of these properties offers its own appeal, Hilton Park Lane offers the most balanced experience in terms of suite quality, elegance, price, and location. But what truly sets it apart is the sense of space and the sincerity of the people who work there. In a city like London, where hotel rooms and suites are often constrained by limited real estate, Hilton Park Lane delivers spaces that feel open, calm, and thoughtfully laid out—never overcrowded or confined.

I had the pleasure of staying at Hilton Park Lane for a week just before Christmas 2024. Though the check-in process fell short of expectations—front desk staff were unable to confirm when my suite would be ready and failed to follow through on their promise to notify me—I spent those waiting hours in the Executive Lounge, which ultimately became one of the highlights of my stay. It was there that I met Stan, whose extraordinary hospitality transformed my experience. Not only did he extend a complimentary upgrade to the Park Lane Suite, but he did so with kindness, sincerity, and a level of care that was both rare and memorable.

The Park Lane Suite was a beautiful retreat—elegantly designed, spacious, and with expansive windows overlooking Hyde Park and Winter Wonderland. The ambiance was calming and luxurious—modern yet timeless. While the suite leaned slightly on the cooler side temperature-wise and the pillows were a bit softer than my personal preference, these were subtle details rather than true drawbacks. The overall comfort and thoughtful layout more than made up for them.

Another notable highlight was the Executive Lounge, a serene and refined space that made the hotel feel even more welcoming. From breakfast to evening cocktails, the offerings were well-curated, and I appreciated how the hotel made an effort to vary the menu daily. Each day brought a slightly different selection of canapés, snacks, and desserts—reflecting both creativity and attention to detail. Tea and coffee were available throughout the day, offering guests a peaceful moment at any time.

For those who enjoy staying active, Hilton Park Lane also offers one of the best fitness centers I’ve experienced in London. It’s fully equipped with modern strength machines, free weights, and cardio options that suit both beginners and fitness enthusiasts. What truly impressed me were the thoughtful extras—complimentary fruits, snacks, water, clean towels, and even shaving kits. The gym also includes a sauna, locker room, and clean shower facilities, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers who want to maintain wellness while on the go.

As an added gesture of hospitality, we were offered a late check-out until 2 p.m., which allowed us to enjoy a slow, peaceful morning before our departure. With Hyde Park just across the road, we took a long, unhurried walk through its wintry paths and open spaces. The air was crisp, the light soft, and the atmosphere almost meditative—a moment of quiet reflection surrounded by nature. It was the perfect way to close out our stay before heading on to Paris.

In a hotel landscape filled with stiff competition, Hilton Park Lane stands out for its consistency, elegance, and above all, its human touch. It strikes that rare balance between understated luxury and genuine hospitality. If I return to London, I would not hesitate to choose this hotel again—not only for its prime location and spacious suites, but because of the warmth and care shown by people like Stan, who remind guests that true luxury lies not just in beautiful design, but in how a place makes you feel.

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea: A Luxury Escape in Paradise

Tucked along the sun-drenched coastline of Wailea, on the island of Maui, the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea offers a level of luxury that feels both intimate and expansive. Since opening its doors in 1990, this iconic oceanfront resort has attracted travelers from around the world with its blend of Hawaiian elegance, flawless service, and breathtaking natural beauty.

I spent five days at this resort, and it’s hard to capture in words just how peaceful and extraordinary the experience was. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into another world—one where beauty, hospitality, and comfort flowed together seamlessly. I’ve stayed in many exceptional hotels over the years, but this one left a lasting impression that’s hard to forget.

Upon checking into my suite, I was greeted with a beautiful welcome basket filled with fresh tropical fruits, locally made Hawaiian snacks, fine chocolates, and a handwritten card from the staff. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made me feel valued and at home. These small touches reflect the resort’s dedication to creating not just a stay—but a heartfelt experience.

My suite was nothing short of impeccable. Spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully laid out, it struck a perfect balance between understated luxury and island warmth. Every detail—from the elegant furnishings to the soft linens and the natural light streaming in from the ocean-facing windows—contributed to an atmosphere of serenity and effortless style.

We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the resort throughout our stay, and although the dining was undeniably expensive, the quality more than justified the price. Every meal was a celebration of flavor, from fresh seafood to island-inspired specialties. One highlight was dinner at Spago Maui, where the fusion of Hawaiian ingredients and Californian cuisine, set against the backdrop of a glowing Maui sunset, created an unforgettable culinary experience.

One dinner in particular stood out—a dish made with asparagus that completely surprised me. I’ve never been a fan of vegetables, especially asparagus, yet somehow this dish was so delicious that I finished every bite without hesitation. That simple plate spoke volumes about the restaurant’s culinary standard: thoughtful, elevated, and unexpectedly satisfying.

The landscapes surrounding the resort were simply breathtaking. Towering palms, vibrant tropical flowers, and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean framed every moment in quiet beauty. The grounds were immaculately maintained, and everything—from the pools to the beachfront pathways—was designed to enhance the natural splendor of the island. One of my favorite memories was walking along the beach near the resort in the evening, when a local Hawaiian singer performed live under the stars. The sound of the waves, the soft music, and the breeze in the air made it feel like a lullaby from Maui itself.

Another unforgettable highlight was a full-body massage at the spa, offered in a traditional open-air Hawaiian-style hale facing the Pacific. With the ocean breeze gently flowing through and the rhythmic sounds of waves in the background, it was more than just a massage—it was a complete sensory escape that left me feeling deeply relaxed and renewed.

If there’s one aspect that felt a little less lively, it’s that the location in Wailea is more secluded compared to areas like Waikiki, where you can step out of the hotel and be immediately surrounded by local shops, cafés, and a vibrant street scene. That said, the resort offers a complimentary shuttle, which we used several times to visit Wailea Village and The Shops at Wailea—two nearby destinations with charming boutiques, art galleries, and a few restaurants.

What stood out most about the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea was how effortlessly everything flowed. The staff were gracious and genuinely warm, always attentive without being intrusive. From the welcome basket to the turn-down service, everything felt carefully considered and sincerely delivered. It never felt overdone—just natural, thoughtful hospitality with a genuine aloha spirit.

If you’re planning a Hawaiian getaway and seeking a luxury resort that offers tranquility, world-class service, elegant accommodations, and stunning ocean views, the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is a place I wholeheartedly recommend. It may not be surrounded by a bustling town center, but that’s part of its magic. This resort invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and truly savor your time in paradise.
